Joan discovered Pilates at the suggestion of a friend after a bout of shin splints temporarily kept her from being able to run. Not only did it help with the shin splints, it alleviated other aches and pains while increasing strength and flexibility through creative, engaging, and meditative movements. Her classes focus on the individual, and pushing each person to work at their greatest potential, without ever making them feel incapable or overwhelmed. She hopes that people will  leave her class feeling empowered and strong.
